The Patient (Part-1)

Summer was almost over.
He could feel the chilly wind striking his cheeks as he sat in his balcony. He could see the city lights shining in the night and the cars honking down in the street.

The city gave a different vibe from his apartment on the 7th floor.

He had moved here 2 months ago but he already felt like leaving this place and to go somewhere new.
Somewhere quiet.

He didn't expect to leave so soon this time.
He looked at his phone, 7 missed calls and dozens of messages.
He once again closed his eyes and went into the past.
.
.
He was sitting in a coffee shop. The waitress had come and took his order 5 minutes ago and he was on his phone scrolling through some old pictures in the meantime.

Every now and then he glanced the whole room as if looking for someone.

Waitress came with his order, she gave a nervous smile and asked if he needed anything else.
He shook his head and she went away.

He looked out the window to his right and he could see the street.
People passing by, some vendors, a book shop across the street and cars.

20 minutes went by and he was still searching, searching for something he didn't even know.
His coffee was cold now. He had barely took 3 sips.

He took out his wallet, put the money on the table and got up.

The waitress had noticed him putting the money.
He was now standing in the street.

He could see the book shop across the street.
He was disappointed again. He couldn't find what he was looking for.

He was thinking about going home and having a long sleep when someone poked him on the shoulder.

He turned to look. She was asking him for an address.
But he was thinking about something else now. He finally found what he was looking for.
He found someone to LEAVE.
.
The next month passed by pretty quickly because he was busy making her happy.
He took her to amazing restaurants.
They went to watch movies together several times.
He kissed her, Several times.
.
One day he bought a necklace, put it in a box and wrapped it in a gift paper having red hearts on it.
He came to her apartment. They were supposed to go for a movie after wards.

He knocked.
She opened the door.
He hugged her and both went inside.

She was going to her room to put on a dress for tonight.
He stopped her and sat her down in a sofa.

He gave her the gift. She gasped.

She opened it. Her eyes sparkled and she seemed really happy.
She asked her to put it around her neck and he did.

"It's Beautiful. I Love you", she said.
And hugged him.
There it was, All he wanted to hear were those words.

His every kiss, Every Hug, Every gift to her was just to hear those words.
He felt happy, But also sad.

Happy because it took less time now to hear those words than every previous time.

And Sad because he has to leave her now.
.
They didn't go to the movies after wards. He spent the night with her.

The next morning he went home, he didn't go the coffee shop.
He stayed at his apartment.
.
It was 9 in the night now. He opened his eyes. Looked at his phone.
2 more missed calls and 7 new messages.
He got up from his balcony and went inside his room.
He started to pack his things and thought about the next place he would go to.
One again again he took out his phone,1 more missed call.
He smiled.
"Stupid", he whispered.
He deleted her number, turned off the phone and put it in his pocket.
He Picked up his bag and went out of the apartment.
.
.
